Cremation Services

Direct Cremation

A complete cremation service without a formal viewing or gathering beforehand. We have helped thousands of North Carolina families through this, and we will take care of yours the same way.

Helping You Decide

For Families Who Want Cremation Without a Formal Service

Losing someone is already one of the hardest things a family goes through. The decisions that follow shouldn't make it harder.

Many families come to this service having already thought carefully about what their loved one would have wanted. Others arrive here simply because it feels right, and that is enough. Direct cremation is a complete, dignified service that lets your family move through this in a way that fits your situation, your values, and your needs, without anything added that you didn't ask for.

Choosing a simpler service does not mean choosing less dignity, less respect, or less care. Every family we serve receives the same attention, the same professionalism, and the same commitment, regardless of the service they choose.

How We Care for Your Family

From the First Call to the Return of Your Loved One

Most funeral homes don't have their own crematory. They arrange cremation through a third-party facility you'll never see. We do things differently. Cremation takes place in our own facility, by our own staff, from beginning to end. Once all required authorizations and the physician-signed death certificate have been received, cremation is typically completed within 48 hours. Certified copies of the death certificate are issued separately by the county and generally take seven to ten business days. We normally provide the urn and certificates together unless your family requests otherwise.

What Families Have Shared with Us

Over 14 years, we've had the privilege of serving thousands of families across North Carolina.

"I have been absolutely astounded at the kindness and professionalism of City of Oaks. They have made the hardest time of my life - losing my father - so much easier with regard to everything that comes after."
"City Of Oaks made a very sad and emotionally draining experience as easy as it could possibly be. Somer and her staff were extremely caring, informative, and made this process a smooth one. From the initial meeting, to the choices of services/products, and the final acceptance, we always felt our needs and feelings were the upmost importance. Also, all costs are set out initially, and there are no “hidden fees” or necessary add-ons."
"The compassion and kindness and generosity shown by Edward and Trey to my family and me during a really sad time made the cremation process more bearable. It was important to us to know that our loved one was being received and cared for in a respectful and loving way. They took time to let us share with them about our loved one and we felt comforted. They were very thoughtful with their suggestions and showed us they genuinely cared about how our loss affected each member of our family. They were truly a blessing to us!"
